The Sun

2/21/2015

Picture
My battle's hardly over,
My wars have just begun,
When the sun, she finds me breathing,
Stare back and carry on.

The mind, a field of battle,
Where roses wither fade,
Hear this, sad souls and fellows,
Take heart and boldly say.

No peace of mind, through eyes I'm blind,
Though often I shall stray,
Inner peace, through conflict,
Lessons learned the hardest way.

Behold the many burns,
My idle hands have wrought,
Yet find the strength, always yearn,
To claim what others sought.

My battle's hardly over,
My wars have just begun.
When the sun, she finds me breathing,
Stare back and carry on.

Am I wrong?

You're mine,
Happenings divine,
Gentle words,
Affection towards,
Shared showers,
But for you,
All I have today are flowers.

Bystander

Picture
It was cold today,
I wore four layers,
Felt like two degrees the weather said,
And then I saw her,
Looked like neighbors,
She smiled and I was warm again.
